Project Description

We are part of a Brazilian collaborative learning club centered on exchanging knowledge on the use of technology to support our peers in their artistic practices. During the pandemic, our meetings went online, switching to discussions about personal projects and art pieces, and sharing knowledge through coding workshops with rotating leadership.

The group is backed up by Araucária Lab, an independent Fab Lab that works on democratising the access to art-focused technologies. Part of that work is creating and promoting educational content in Portuguese: courses, e-books, study groups and events.

As Brazilian coders, artists and researchers who have self-taught how to code we have experienced first hand the difficulty in finding educational content in our native language: Portuguese. We are few of the lucky Brazilians who had the chance to learn English, and therefore are able to access resources that are not available to most people in our country and other Portuguese-speaking ones.

This proposal comes from the desire to make p5.js accessible to our community.
